Members of the UMass community now have easy access to a new stream of data for their research projects, as Gallup Analytics conducts a trial of its data portal with the library at UMass. Any student or faculty member should be able to access the portal if in range of the campus internet at this link https://analyticscampus.gallup.com/?ref=Auth

Gallup data is used by researchers across academic fields (psychology, law, sociology, economics, political science, etc..) The online platform includes new data and historical trends at the country, state and U.S. city levels. All trends are easily searchable and exportable. Researchers can also view data by demographic categories and compare results across geographies to develop and report findings, including direct citations of Gallup’s work. Three robust databases are included in the portal:

Gallup World Poll | Each year, Gallup collects opinions on the most important issues worldwide. Since 2005, the Gallup World Poll has successfully captured the on-the-ground reality of people in more than 160 countries and regions through nationally representative, consistent sampling frames via face-to-face and telephone polling.

Gallup U.S. Daily Tracking | Taking the pulse of U.S. residents 350 days a year, Gallup U.S. Daily Tracking asks Americans to share their views on pressing economic issues as well as their personal well-being. Data from Daily Tracking can be viewed at a national or state-by-state level.

Gallup Brain | Amassing eight decades of analysis, the Gallup Brain is a searchable, living record of U.S. public opinion dating back to 1935. The Gallup Brain contains survey data from our regular Gallup Poll Social Series covering a range of topics including:

  • Values and Beliefs
  • Environment
  • Economy and Personal Finance
  • World Affairs
  • Mood of the Nation
  • Lifestyle
  • Health and Healthcare
  • Crime
  • Governance
  • Work and Education
  • Consumption Habits
