On our campus, diversity, equity and inclusion are central to our mission, our values, and our success. This fall, we were awarded a National Science Foundation ADVANCE Institutional Transformation Grant to develop systemic and sustainable approaches to advance gender equity (including dynamics at the intersection of race and gender) and promote gender equity in ways that involve women and men. We will separately fund the extension of grant activities to school/colleges outside of the core NSF-funded disciplines to ensure that all faculty can benefit.
In order to inform our efforts, we need to hear from you. On Thursday, December 6 you will receive an email invitation to complete the ADVANCE Faculty Survey. This important survey will provide us with an opportunity to learn about your experiences: Is there equity in the distribution of resources to promote faculty success and access to professional networks on campus? Is there a sense of community that makes UMass inclusive and welcoming? What is going well? What areas are in need of improvement? To learn more about the ADVANCE 2018 Faculty Survey please visit the ADVANCE program website.
All participants are eligible to win prizes from a random drawing, more information is provided below. Thank you in advance for your participation in this important campus effort.

The survey is voluntary and takes an average of 10-12 minutes to complete. You may skip any questions that you prefer not to answer. Your responses are anonymous and will be analyzed only after being grouped together with hundreds of other faculty members. Names will not be linked to responses and no individuals will be identifiable in any reports, presentations or publications of the results.
The survey is web-based and has been optimized for completion via PC, phone or tablet.
Prizes include an iPad, dinner at the University Club, or a pair of tickets to a performance of your choice at the Fine Arts Center.
