Spring 2016 Methodology Workshop 3: Introduction to SAS for Windows

DescriptionDespite the emergence of several popular programming languages in recent years, SAS is still one of the most widely used statistical software packages in the corporate sector, mostly by health care management consulting firms. Designed for individuals with no experience with SAS and those who want to build further, the workshop will provide an overview on effective data management tricks and fundamental statistical techniques (both descriptive as well as inferential statistics).

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to

  • Write a simple SAS code (data step, set statement, if/then statement)
  • Perform multivariate analysis (summary statistics)
  • Perform basic inferential statistical tests (e.g., t-test and linear regression)
  • Get exposure to more advanced topics, such as merge, retain and proc steps
