Launch the new year with support to develop research on the social sciences and humanities, sustainability, and the environment. This working lunch event will share information and support networking for principal investigators interested in applying in the second round of funding from the Social Science & Environment Network's Seed Grant Program. This program is sponsored by ISSR and the School of Earth & Sustainability at UMass Amherst, and aims to stimulate new collaborations for interdisciplinary research on environmental themes in the social sciences and humanities.
SSEN Coordinator Angela de Oliveira and ISSR Director Laurel Smith-Doerr will offer a short overview of the goals and application process for the SSEN Seed Grant Program. This will be followed by a networking luncheon. The purpose of the working luncheon is to offer interested faculty a chance to share their research ideas and discuss them with potential collaborators from across the university. Participants can use this space to strengthen relationships and ideas with which to build winning proposals for the Seed Grant competition (deadline March 21).
The SSEN Seed Grants are are sponsored by the Institute for Social Science Research, in collaboration and with co-funding from the School of Earth & Sustainability (SES).
