Drawing on the results of a survey of sociology department chairs and a comparison of 8 cases, Sarah Babb of Boston College discussed the nature, causes, and consequences of the problems non-experimental researchers in the social sciences and humanities encounter with campus IRBs. Sarah Babb is Professor of Sociology at Boston College.
