Online Event - Register via email to receive login credentials

You are invited to join UMass iCons - Integrated Concentration in Science - for an upcoming faculty development workshop:

Acknowledging Identity in the Classroom

In this workshop, we will examine the framework of Critical Inclusive Pedagogy as a lens for creating inclusion in the classroom.  Focusing on authenticity and power-sharing, we will model and discuss activities to help us bring our whole selves into the classroom and acknowledge the lived experiences of our students. The context of the workshop will focus on STEM teaching, however, the framework, ideas, and pedagogies we will work with are not STEM specifically.  They can be used in any classroom/discipline.  We will bring in some specific ways STEM is not inclusive to set the stage for our inclusion work, but any practitioner could envision how their discipline might have specific moments of exclusion for some students.

Participation is limited to 20 attendees
