ISA - Organization

The Indian Students' Association (ISA) is a cultural organization that tries to brings the rich traditions of Indian culture to the Pioneer valley. It boasts of nearly 400 graduate student members from the Indian community at UMass, Amherst. Although we are primarily a graduate organization, members of the undergraduate community at UMass and the neighboring institutions have shown interest and participated in ISA activities in the past and keenly continue to do so. Moreover, the activities organized by us are open to the entire campus, in an attempt to share Indian culture with everyone. ISA renders various services to its members. At the start of the academic year, ISA works with new graduate students, helping them in finding appropriate accommodation and in adjusting to new surroundings. It organizes celebration of national and cultural events in India, for the benefit of its members and others in the five-college area. It works as a platform for discussion on a variety of topics as desired by its members. It provides interaction between its members at a social level, via various activities for entertainment such as movies, get-togethers and parties.
