On-Campus Housing Bulletin

If you want on-campus housing for Spring 2008, please review the bulletin on the housing website under news and announcements. Fall 2008 students will be able to use on-line room selection through SPIRE.
Students who are on exchange will automatically be given an appointment for each period and do not have to request one! Once a student has selected an assignment, they will not be given future appointments. If a student wants to upgrade or change their assignment they may do so during the summer.

Gilman International Scholarship Program Online Application Now Open

Application Deadline: April 15, 2008
The Gilman International Scholarship Program provides awards of up to $5,000 for U.S. undergraduate students to study abroad for up to one academic year. The program aims to diversify the kinds of student who study abroad and the countries and regions where they go. The program serves students who have been under-represented in study abroad which includes but is not limited to: students with high financial need, community college students, students in under-represented fields such as the sciences and engineering, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds, students attending minority-serving institutions, and students with disabilities.

The American Academy of Diplomacy is sponsoring an essay contest

for students with a first prize of $8,000 and an all expenses paid trip to Washington, DC to discuss their essay with a senior State Department official. The contest is open to any American citizen who is an international affairs undergraduate or graduate student. The essay must be less than 1500 words evaluating and making a recommendation on policy. Unite For Sight Volunteer Abroad Opportunities

With the assistance of volunteers like you, Unite for Sight restored sight to 10,062 patients and provided eye case to 300,000 in 2006 and 2007. The goal of Unite For Sight and its partner eye clinics and communities is to create eye disease-free communities. Unite For Sight's volunteers (local and visiting) work with partner eye clinics to provide eye care in communities without previous access. The eye clinic's eye doctors and Unite For Sight volunteers jointly provide community-based screening programs in rural villages. The clinic's eye doctors diagnose and treat eye disease in the field, and surgical patients are brought to the eye clinic for surgery.
