ILED manages campus-wide relationships with a set of
companies that have research interests across colleges
and schools. In keeping with our mission, we "broaden
and deepen relationships" with those companies to
keep them active and productive.
We also come in contact with many more companies
that are interested in our campus. As such, if you are
planning an event to showcase your research and you
want industry exposure and participation, ILED can
help. Given sufficient lead time, ILED can augment your
guest lists and promote your event. By working
together, we can do more for the University.
Please forward this email to other people - on and off
campus - who share an interest in UMass Amherst
industry interaction.

| Industry Advisors Influence University in Large Numbers | | | ILED has recently conducted an inventory of industry
advisory boards on campus. With still a few
councils remaining to be counted, more than 340
industry executives representing more than 240
companies and
14 states are actively engaged in our colleges and
schools! This is an impressive showing of industry's
positive impact on our University.

| "Nanotechnology 101" for the masses | | | Professor Tom Russell, Director of the Keck
Nanostructures Laborator and Director of the Materials
Research
Science and Engineering Center on Polymers, will be
offering a short course on nanotechnology at the next
Advanced Materials network meeting on June 14 at The
Log Cabin, Holyoke, MA. (See sidebar.) He'll also talk
of the work
currently going on at UMass in nanotechnology, the
potential
for application of the research and the facilities
available at
UMass.
This kind of exposure for UMass technology in the
region encourages industry/university collaboration.
