Single Molecule Biophysics
We seek to understand how individual biomolecular components work together to drive empirical behavior of living systems. We use single-molecule sensitive techniques to study biomolecules and biomolecular complexes in confining or crowded environments that mimic the cellular environment.

Research Interest

Potential Application

RNA antisense interactions

Understanding structure/function relationships; drug discovery

Molecular assembly in engineered environments

Biodirected assembly; materials development

Optical and microfluidic techniques

Ultrasensitive biomolecular sensing and measurement
