ICB3’s affiliate faculty work in a variety of research areas, from seeking to understand the molecular mechanisms that underlie devastating illness to inventing tools to support decision making by turning data into insights. ICB3 seeks to build on these strong programs by facilitating and encouraging collaborations that strengthen and extend the faculty’s capacity to create new knowledge. To these ends, we highlight individual researchers and available open source tools, offer support for proposal development on a case by case basis, and promote the development of new tools through the Open Source Software Innovation Competition (OSSI).
