ICB3 is an interdisciplinary institute working at the intersection of computational, biomedical and translational research. The Institute was established in 2012 to create research oriented and educational activities that facilitate trans-disciplinary collaborations involving high-level analytic and computational methods as they apply to biomedical and life sciences research. Participating faculty bring expertise in biology, biostatistics and computer science to work on shared challenges and interests. Our activities and initiatives aim to:
- Catalyze intellectual exchange and facilitate connections among life science, translational, bioinformatics and computational resources at UMass Amherst.
- Pursue extramural funding to support the development of educational opportunities in computational and statistical methods for large-scale academic applications.
- Engage life science and information technology companies through meetings and mini-symposia to identify shared interests for future collaborations.
