GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under
the supervision of the Chancellor and his spouse, the House Manager &
Executive
Assistant will be responsible for the management of
Chancellor’s
residence, including house maintenance, special projects, and the
planning,
coordination, and the management of all
additionally
provide counsel, advice and support to the chancellor’s spouse in
matters
relating to official

planning, coordination and management.
Primary
duties include ensuring the overall integrity of
House,
including the initiation, management and supervision of repair projects and
general
maintenance and upkeep of the residence, as well as the supervision of a
housekeeper
and other staff that may work there from time-to-time on special
projects
and maintenance matters. The incumbent will also plan, coordinate and
manage
official events held at
accurate
and detailed files and records of events; supervise catering; and provide
advice
on related matters including, but not limited to, guests lists, protocols,
menu
planning, invitations, set-up, and other noteworthy tasks as may be necessary
in
order to ensure success; this shall include interacting with events
participants
as
appropriate. This individual will also
hire, train, and supervise students who work
at
the events.
Duties
will further include maintenance and coordination of the Chancellor’s
spouse’s
calendar for all official University events; preparing official related
correspondence
as appropriate; as well as maintaining currency on events both on
and
off campus in order to provide appropriate briefings and updates as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s
degree (or equivalent combination of education, training and
experience) and at least 1-3 years experience in event management,
higher
education
experience preferred.
2. Excellent
oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to
work independently, and exercise sound independent judgment and
decision
making capabilities.
4.
Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct the work of others.
5. Working
knowledge of Windows operating systems, including demonstrated
experience
with Excel.
6. Attention
to detail required; ability to create appropriate seasonal décor
preferred.
7. Ability to
maintain professional demeanor a must; honesty and integrity
required.
8. Ability to
maintain confidences.
9. Ability to
provide creative solutions to sensitive matters
10. Ability to travel; drivers license required.
11. Ability to work nights and weekends as required.

VICE CHANCELLOR
STUDENT
AFFAIRS AND CAMPUS LIFE
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under
the direction of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Campus Life,
the
Associate provides assistance in the overall management of the work within the
Student
Affairs Executive Area. Coordinates,
oversees and manages a wide variety
of
activities and confidential assignments; manages and coordinates the day-to-day
operations
dealing with university constituencies including students, faculty,
staff,
alumni, parents, and the public.
Implements and monitors action items
prioritized
by the Vice Chancellor. Provides analytical support and assistance in
the
resolution of complex, highly sensitive and confidential administrative
matters. Develops programs, policies, and procedural
changes to implement the
mission
and goals of Student Affairs and Campus Life.
Directs the research for
information,
statistics and other relevant data, necessary to inform/support the
Vice
Chancellor’s response to issues and concerns. Serves as the Vice Chancellor’s
primary
liaison on legal issues, including preparation for legal action and
review/revision
of campus regulations. Writes major reports, non-routine
correspondence,
speeches and other documents for internal and external purposes.
Receives/reviews/assures
appropriate referral/resolution of problems pertaining to
individual
students or others; investigates/responds to issues of general concern
raised
by members of the community. Oversees/reviews/advises
Vice Chancellor on
all
grant proposals for Student Affairs and Campus Life.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Masters
degree in higher education administration, student personnel
administration or related field.
2. 3 - 5
years relevant experience in higher education administration, preferably
in student
affairs.
3. Knowledge
of current practices and theories in student affairs higher
education,
plus awareness of current undergraduate trends and issues.
4. Skill in
collating and summarizing information/data in an electronic or written
format in
support of in-depth analysis of complex, sensitive and multi-faceted
issues.
5. Ability to
handle multiple priorities and perform well under pressure and
within
deadlines.
6. Ability to
exercise a high level of discretion in handling of sensitive
information.
7. Excellent
written communication skills.
8. Experience
preparing presentations, agendas, and reports.
9. Experience
working effectively with diverse constituencies and organizations.
10. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
(Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

with skills and experience.
