GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
To serve as director for basic writing course and placement exam. Teaching load is 1:1 of first-
year writing courses as well as biweekly practica meetings for 15-20 Teaching Associates, who teach
first-year writing. Responsible for monitoring budget, supervising scheduling, and coordinating
with other academic departments.
1. Ph.D. in relevant area (e.g. Composition or English Ed).
2. Minimum three (3) years teaching writing.
3. Research in/teaching experience in basic writing; experience with networked teaching
environments; ability to supervise others, manage a program budget, teach faculty and
students, and design and evaluate curriculum.
Hiring Salary Range: $53,300 - $60,400. Normal Starting Salary: $53,300 - $67,500.
