University Workplace Accommodations is the resource for employees who require accommodation(s) in order to perform the essential functions of their job.
New benefited faculty and staff attend a new employee orientation in the first week of employment. The hiring department's personnel coordinator schedules the orientation for new benefited faculty and staff. Orientation sessions last two to three hours. Your employing department will provide you the date, time and location of your orientation.
Please note: if you wish to establish health insurance for your spouse and/or dependents you must supply proof of marriage and proof of dependent(s) relationship (birth certificate or proof of adoption).
Faculty and staff (including those who have accepted an offer for employment) are eligible for free services from ComPsych GuidanceResources. GuidanceResources provides qualified referrals and customized resources related to moving/relocation, making major purchases, child/elder care, financial planning, real estate transactions and much more!
New Graduate student employees should complete the New Graduate Employee Orientation Package and return the completed forms (with appropriate supporting I-9 documents) to the Human Resources Employee Service Center.
New Postdoctoral employees must come to the Employee Service Center to complete hiring paperwork. Please note: if you wish to establish health insurance for your spouse and/or dependents you must supply proof of marriage and proof of dependent(s) relationship (birth certificate or proof of adoption).
New non-benefitted, graduate hourly and undergraduate student employees may complete hiring paperwork with their employing department or at the Employee Service Center.
Employees who require accommodations in order to perform the essential functions of their job should pursue those accommodations through Workplace Accommodations.
Employment Eligibility Verification
All new employees are required to provide documentation that fulfills federal I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification requirements. Refer to
page 9 of the I-9 Form for a list of acceptable documents. Please complete Section 1 of the form on/prior to your first day of employment and complete Section 2 on/prior to your third day of employment.
Benefitted faculty and staff complete the Employment Eligibility Verification form at a benefits and payroll orientation.
You will receive information about your Net ID once your are hired. Your Net ID gives you access to the University's HR Direct Employee Self-Service system. Log into HR Direct Self-Service as soon as you get your Net ID and familiarize yourself with this valuable tool.
