Salary Administration @ UMass Amherst The Salary Administration staff are responsible for administering and helping design the compensation and classification programs for staff employees. [The Provost's Office sets guidelines and administers compensation for faculty; Student Employment is responsible for administering the student salaries.] We strive to ensure that pay decisions are made as objectively as possible, and our salary administration system relies on formal mechanisms to reconcile reliable market data with internal equity.
