Located in scenic western Massachusetts, the Department of Music and Dance at the University of  Massachusetts Amherst offers students the advantages of a close-knit community along with the programs and opportunities provided by being at the state’s flagship public university. We have students and faculty from across the country and from around the world who have come together to collaborate and grow as musicians and scholars.

I hope the information provided here will give you a glimpse into what we do. Please be in touch if you need any further information or want to schedule a visit. We’d love to have you come for a concert or a day of classes, or both!

                         The "French" Horn section of the Symphony Band Fall 2010  

Multibands 2010 was great!  More than 3500 students and 1500 at evening performance    enjoyed the horn choir and all the other groups.
