Research Interests and Professional Activities
Special interests include Sendero Luminoso, Mexican art, and the impact
of new information technologies in the humanities. He has published on
borderlands history in Colonial Latin American Historical Review,
Journal of the Southwest, and The Americas, and on the online
revolution in academia in Colonial Latin American Review and The
Journal of Academic Librarianship. He has also published an annotated
bibliography of the Shining Path guerrilla movement in Peru, which received
the José Toribio Medina Award from the Seminar on the Acquisition
of Latin American Library Materials (SALALM). Currently, he is researching
Mexican art movements in the decades 1920-1940, and is writing an annotated
bibliography of the Mexican muralist movement. He is past president and
executive board member of SALALM.
