Research Interests and Professional Activities
Professor Jones is the author of two books, The Emancipation of the Russian Nobility, 1763-1785 (1973) and Provincial Development in Russia: Catherine II and Jakob Sievers (1984), as well as sixteen scholarly articles on Russian history. He is also a frequent participant in national and international conferences. Professor Jones has received several grants, including a Fulbright-Hayes Grant and six grants from IREX, all for research in the USSR and Russia.
