"Science for the People" Book Launch Northampton

"Science for The People" Book cover

Please join co-editors Sigrid Schmalzer and Dan Chard at the book launch of their new volume, Science for the People: Documents from America's Movement of Radical Scientists.

Between 1969 and 1989, Science for the People mobilized American scientists, teachers, and students to practice a socially and economically just science, rather than one that served militarism and corporate profits. The book offers an introduction to SftP's analysis of a wide range of issues -- including militarism, race, gender, medicine, agriculture, energy, and international solidarity -- through selections from SftP's own publications placed in historical context.

The event will take place on Wednesday, March 28, 7:00, Broadside Books, (247 Main St.Northampton) and will include a talk by Dan Chard and Sigrid Schmalzer, followed by a book signing.
