2007 Article Prize Announcement
The Berkshire Conference announces its Article Prize, which carries
with it a $500 award to the author. The prize is for an article
in any field of history written by a woman who is normally resident
in North America, published during 2007. Articles need not focus
on women's history, and many past winners have not.
Entries may be submitted either by an author or by the journal.
Journals are limited to three nominations. The deadline for submitting
entries is January 15, 2008. Please be sure to send three xerox
copies (or offprints) of the article. Do not send the entire journal
in which the article appears. Jointly published articles are acceptable,
as are articles that have appeared in collections, but only if they
were published for the first time in 2007. They must not be reprints
of articles published in previous years. Journals should indicated
in a cover letter that they are submitting articles for the prize
competition, and include a contact phone number and e-mail address
at the journal. Authors should include contact information in a
cover letter.

The 2008 award will be announced at the Berkshire Conference on
the History of Women in Minneapolis in June 2008, and in a full-page
advertisement in Perspectives, the newsletter of the American Historical
