HFA Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarship applications for the 2014-15 academic year are now being accepted.
Application deadline: Wednesday, FEBRUARY 19, 2014 at 12:00 noon
Welcome to the HFA undergraduate scholarship page. The Dean of the College of Humanities & Fine Arts invites students who have declared their primary or secondary major in a Humanities & Fine Arts department to apply for the scholarships listed on our web site and accessible via the links below. We recommend you use these links to find information about specific scholarship programs and eligibility requirements.
Scholarship awards are valuable for the contribution they make toward reducing a student's tuition expense and they are important for the recognition and honor they confer on the recipient. HFA scholarships are typically in the range of $300 to $1,500 and are made possible by the generous support of UMass Amherst alumni and friends and by the Dean's Office .
Students only need to complete and submit the online application once to be considered for all scholarships and awards for which they may be eligible. Before you do, we encourage you to preview the application questions and prepare your responses in advance so they can be pasted into the online application easily. We also suggest you read a brief note that summarizes exactly what one of the Scholarship Review Committee members looks for----it could help you craft a stronger application. The online application does not allow you save your responses and return to them after exiting the program and it does not allow you to make any changes once to an application that has been submitted. Applications must be completed and submitted by 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. To access the online HFA Scholarship Application--click HERE
Please note that applications will only be accepted through the online form. The application preview document may not be used as a form on which to submit an application.
Students seeking scholarship support should also investigate opportunities available in some departments and those listed on the Financial Aid Services Scholarship page. If you have any questions about the HFA scholarships, please send them via e-mail to Lynne Latham in the Dean's Office.
We wish you the best of luck!
