Information Session with The Washington Center

There will be an on-campus info session with The Washington Center on internships and academic seminars on Wednesday, September 29th from 4-5pm at 508 Goodell.

Current openings (outside of HFA):

WFCR/WNNZ is a public radio station licensed to the University of Massachusetts Amherst, operating with the advice of Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges. As an affiliate of National Public Radio, American Public Media and Public Radio International, WFCR/WNNZ serves 185,000 listeners in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont and New Hampshire with news and information, and classical, jazz and world music.

Thanks to the generosity of Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke and Smith Colleges, WFCR is able to offer four paid internships per semester. In addition, unpaid internships are also available at the station throughout both fall and spring semesters, and during the summer months. Priority will be given to Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke and Smith College students, however all students are welcome to apply.

Opportunities are available for students in the areas of News, Production, and Marketing/Communications. These opportunities are designed with two purposes in mind: to provide experience in the area of interest and to help WFCR meet its operational needs. WFCR will conduct an initial screening of applicants and contact finalists for in-person interviews.

Internships are offered for a minimum period of one semester with the expectation of 8-10 hours per week of student time. For paid internships, the stipend is $10 per hour. An internship may be renewed for an additional period.
