2008 Scholarships
All March 3rd scholarship deadlines
have been extended to March 10, 2008.
Below are descriptions with dowloadable forms for 2008 CHFA Scholarships and the William F. Field Alumni Scholars Program:
The William F. Field Alumni Scholars Program: is awarded to students demonstrating outstanding academic achievement, and unique skills in the areas of arts,athletics,reasearch or service to the community. To be eligible you must have a minimum of sixty (60) graded hours in residence at UMass Amherst (transfer credits are excluded) and possess a minimum 3.5 cumulative grade point average. The application has a deadline of February 21, 2008, and is available here.
The College of Humanities and Fine Arts Scholarships:
The College will again be awarding many scholarships based on academic merit and extracurricular achievements during the past year. The awards typically range between $500 and $2,500, with an average scholarship of $1,000. To be eligible you must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher, be at least a Sophomore, Junior or first semester Senior, and have a declared major in one of the departments in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts. must be completed and returned to the CHFA Dean’s Office, 204 South College, by March 3, 2008.
The Robert Perlman Scholarships: All CHFA Undergraduate majors are invited to apply for these awards, which support students with demonstrated leadership potential and an entrepreneurial spirit. Sophomores, Juniors and first semester Seniors with a declared major in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts are eligible. The Robert Perlman Internship Stipends: Support internship expenses for students with a declared major in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts. To apply, download the application form (PDF) and
return it to the CHFA Dean’s Office, 204 South College, by April 7, 2008.
The Class of 1976 Humanities Scholarship was organized by that class during its Tenth Reunion Fund Drive (1985-1986) and established formally in 1989. The scholarship is awarded annually to a University of Massachusetts Amherst senior in good academic standing, who intends to continue his or her education as a Graduate Degree candidate at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts.
