Studio Art Print Sale
Art majors have created a selection of work especially for viewing and sale during Alumni Weekend. Come see their talent first-hand, visit the Studio Arts Building and support these aspiring artists!
This year the official Undergraduate Commencement, at which degrees will be conferred, will take place on Friday, May 9 at 4:30 p.m. at Warren McGuirk Alumni Stadium on campus. Click here for more information and details about caps and gowns, parking, and other guest services.
Earlier this year, Associate Professor of English Joselyn Almeida-Beveridge was awarded a prestigious Fulbright award, which will allow her to study and research abroad in Spain.
Three prominent African-American artists — Nobel Prize-winning novelist Toni Morrison, singer and social activist Bernice Reagon Johnson and poet and playwright Sonia Sanchez — will share the stage in a public conversation about “Black Women in the Arts in the 21st Century” on Monday, March 10 from 7-9:30 p.m. in the Mullins Center at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Hosted by the W.E.B. Du Bois Department of Afro-American Studies at UMass Amherst, the event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.
