Bestorfest Redux
The UMass Amherst Department of Music and Dance wanted to perform a "well-deserved tribute" to colleague, composer, Charles Bestor. They called it Bestorfest, and it was scheduled for February 2004. Then it snowed.
Bestorfest Redux, the re-scheduled event will take place at 8 pm on Sunday May 16 in Bezanson Recital Hall.
Virtually the entire performance faculty of the Department of Music and Dance will be involved in this retrospective of the music of Professor Emeritus Charles Bestor.
Professor Bestor came to the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1976 and served as Professor of Composition, Director of the Electronic Music Studio, and Chair of the Department of Music and Dance from 1977-1988.
Tickets are available from the Fine Arts Center Box Office 413-545-2511 and are $5 for senior citizens, students and children under 18, and $10 for the general public. Proceeds from the concert will go toward the Ann Elder Bestor Memorial Scholarship.
