Continuing Education University of Massachusetts Amherst Arts Extension Service: www.umass.edu/aes The University of Massachusetts Arts Extension provides workshops, courses, conferences and consulting to help teach artists, community and state arts leaders how to manage the arts. University of Massachusetts Continuing and Professional Education: www.umassulearn.net Provides access to graduate, undergraduate and online classes at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, for and not-for-credit, throughout the academic year and during the summer. Programs include a part-time online MBA, certificate in arts management, Masters of Music Program in Music Education, Graduate Certificate in the Teaching of Writing, and a variety of classes in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts. ArtsMarketing.org: www.artsmarketing.org Artsmarketing.org is a project of the Arts and Business Council for Americans for the Arts. It offers workshops and trainings, case studies, and a step-by-step guide to marketing and resources for artists. Funding Massachusetts Cultural Council: www.massculturalcouncil.org Massachusetts Cultural Council provides grants, and technical assistance. Local Cultural Councils in each Massachusetts community also award grants to artists, schools, and community organizations on behalf of the state agency. Associated Grantmakers of Massachusetts: www.agmconnect.org Association of Grantsmakers offers a Massachusetts Grantmakers Directory and a grants library. New England Foundation for the Arts: www.nefa.org Provides grants and educational resources for artists in New England and research on the creative economy. Chronicle of Philanthropy: http://philanthropy.com The newspaper of the non-profit world, published bi-weekly. It has information on grants, trends in the industry and helpful advice for managing non-profits. National Endowment for the Humanities: www.neh.gov The National Endowment for the Humanities is an independent grant-making agency of the United States government dedicated to supporting research, education, preservation, and public programs in the humanities. Getting Noticed Matchbook: www.matchbook.org Matchbook is an online cultural marketplace that brings together New England's performing artists and the people and organizations who present them. This free website features an easy-to-search directory of artists, performance spaces and presenting organizations, designed to match artists with presenters that book them to perform. It also features advice for artists on marketing their work and a classified section that allows artists to find live and work spaces and much more. Massachusetts Office of Women and Minority Owned Businesses: www.somwba.state.ma.us Provides certification of minority and women owned businesses and publishes a searchable directory of them online.

Bidding on state contracts is now easier for all business owners through the Commonwealth's Procurement Access and Solicitation System. Visit this site and see new solicitations that you can compete for, and, possibly form partnerships with other businesses. Massachusetts Performers and Programs Directory: www.semls.org/performer A directory maintained by the Massachusetts Regional Library Systems. The directory includes both performance information and information about the artists/performers and is intended to assist Librarians in developing programs for their libraries for patrons of all ages. The directory includes listings of authors, artists, musicians, dancers, theatre programs, and more.

The free directory helps connect alumni with goods and services that are offered by fellow alumni. The service is only available to post and search by members of the University of Massachusetts Amherst Alumni Association. Western Massachusetts Arts Alliance: www.wmassarts.org The Western Massachusetts Arts Alliance helps connect artists with opportunities; from trainings, networking opportunities and resources. Jobs Hire Culture: www.hireculture.org Provides a free searchable database of jobs cultural employment opportunities in Massachusetts, managed by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. The database includes both non-profit and commercial opportunities. Business Resources Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts: www.westernmassedc.com The EDC of Western Massachusetts is a private, non-profit corporation that provides resources and information to businesses operating in or entering the region by aiding in expansion, relocation and networking. Massachusetts Office of Business Development: The Massachusetts Office of Business Development (MOBD) assists companies who want to locate, expand, grow, or maintain a presence in Massachusetts. The office works with companies and municipalities to help them take advantage of available economic incentive programs, and navigating and accessing the technical, human, financial, training, educational and site-finding resources necessary to expand or locate in Massachusetts.
