Art:  Studio Art Program

Lecturer/Chief Undergraduate Advisor

The Studio Art Program of the Department of Art at the University of Massachusetts Amherst seeks a full-time Lecturer (twelve-month, non-tenure track) to serve as Chief Undergraduate Advisor, with both teaching and advising responsibilities.  The position will require:  teaching one course per semester; advising undergraduates throughout the year; coordinating recruitment and admissions activities; working to enhance the quality of the major and the undergraduate experience; and assisting with management of the Studio Arts Building.  MFA in Studio Art required; expertise in digital media and/or Foundations curriculum preferred.  Send letter of application, vita, and supporting materials, which might include images of studio work, course syllabi, student evaluations, and a statement about advising activities.  Applicants should discuss their interest in advising undergraduates and their qualifications to do so.  Initial appointment is for one year, with the expectation of reappointment.  Minimum salary is $48,000.  Send all materials to:
