High Energy Theory, Cosmology

Research Interest:

My research focuses on the theoretical aspects of cosmology, and on what cosmology can tell about the physics that lies beyond the Standard Model of fundamental interactions. By looking at the sky, indeed, we see many evidences of the existence of a physics beyond the Standard Model. Such physics has to account for the origin of the baryon asymmetry of our Universe, the presence of dark matter, the current and the primordial phases of accelerated expansion of the Universe.

I am presently interested in the study of primordial inflation, with particular emphasis on the case in which many fields play a role. I am also studying issues related to the current acceleration of the Universe, especially the possibility that it could be due to a long distance modification of the gravity law. Finally, I am analyzing properties of quantum fields on nontrivial spacetimes, by making use of the conjectured duality between the Randall-Sundrum model and a Conformal Field Theory coupled to gravity.
