Cultural Resources:
Proposals by Study

During the follow-up workshop, Will Green, a professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Rhode Island presented a studio project by his students in 1997. The Southern Rhode Island Natural Heritage and Recreation Trail is their proposal for a 46 mile long cultural heritage trail.

Another proposal made during the follow-up workshop was to protect the rural western portion of the state. This study proposes that the Quinebaug and Shetucket River Valley National Heritage Corridor in the state of Connecticut expands to include this part of Rhode Island.
