The Sustainable UMass Action Coalition is a new student group on campus that was created to help create a place for students just becoming interested in issues of environmental sustainability to go to learn more and become involved. The main priority that SUMAC has is to increase the energy of the student body around environmental issues and create a large amount of student support for environmentally proactive projects and initiatives across campus.

It also owns a cabin in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, which is a great jumping-off point for outdoor activities up there including hiking and skiing.
