Greetings!
Clean energy can create local jobs, reduce pollution and stabilize energy costs. Even as the economy tightens, business and career opportunities in the green economy are projected to grow. Here in New England, we are at the forefront of a nationwide movement for clean energy. Our communities, our colleges and universities, and our companies all stand to benefit from the rising tide of federal, state and private sector investment in energy efficiency and renewable power.
On Saturday November 22, please join me at the MassMutual Center in Springfield for the First Annual Clean Energy Connections Conference and Opportunity Fair. There you can explore opportunities for business development, career training, and community engagement
in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable power, and other "green" industries.
At Clean Energy Connections you can expect to:
- Access the information, resources, and talent you need to start or build your business;
- Meet entrepreneurs, researchers, and community leaders who are mobilizing around clean energy;
- Learn about clean energy career opportunities. What's hot? What's hype? And;
- Hear direct from state lawmakers about green jobs policies.
The University of Massachusetts Amherst is proud to produce this important event, which will feature some of the key organizations and individuals who are blazing a path toward our clean energy future.
Sincerely yours,

Paul T. Kostecki, PhD
Vice Chancellor for Research and Engagement
