The Graduate Student Grant Service (GSGS) helps graduate students at UMass Amherst to seek extramural support for their studies. We show grad students how to identify and apply for fellowships and grants from sources outside the university. We support searches for funding for a variety of scholarly activities including research, overseas studies, dissertation work, and professional training.

Services

We offer the following array of services:

Databases that contain fellowship opportunities, deadlines, etc., and that allow individuals to set up an alert service profile
Posting of prominent fellowship opportunities through our bulletin board, Graduate Program Directors, and newsletter
Individual consultations by appointment via email, phone, and in person
Drop-in office hours (subject to change -- see below)
Departmental workshops

Office Hours

The GSGS office is located in 517 Goodell on the UMass Amherst campus.
Our drop-in office hours for the Spring 2008 semester are:
Mondays and Fridays, 10-2; Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10-12. We are not open for drop-in hours on Wednesdays.
