The Environmental Health Sciences Department combines the public health sciences of biostatistics, environmental health and epidemiology with natural sciences, mathematics and engineering to provide a quantitative basis to measure the effect of environmental stressors on human health. Environmental Health Sciences professionals anticipate new problems and identify existing ones. They design, implement, and evaluate solutions to environmental problems to meet the public health needs of society. They also work to minimize the adverse effects of the environment on human health.
