Electrical and Computer Engineering Doctoral Degree Requirements

Ph.D. degree candidates are required to register for 18 credits of ECE 899 (Doctoral Dissertation) and a minimum of six credits outside the student's major area. In no case shall the Ph.D. course work be less than 6 credits beyond the requirements of the M.S. degree. Residency, dissertation, and examination requirements are described in the General Information section of this Bulletin.Information on requirements for the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering is available from the Departmental Graduate office. Specific requirements for the Preliminary Comprehensive Exam are also available. A Master's degree is required for admission to the Ph.D. program.
