Electrical and Computer Engineering Master's Degree Requirements
Program | Faculty
| Master's | Doctoral | Courses
A student entering the M.S.E.C.E. degree program in Electrical and Computer Engineering
is assigned to a faculty member who acts as his or her program adviser. With the approval of
the program adviser, the student selects a unified program consisting
of 33 or more graduate credits, normally from courses chosen from the fields of engineering, mathematics, physics and
computer science. The student also has the option of selecting a program which involves the preparation of
a thesis (ECE 699, 6 credits) with only 24 additional course credits required. In this case, the
student selects a major thesis adviser, usually after one semester of study, and in consultation with the
thesis adviser, submits a proposal for thesis research to the student's thesis committee.
A brochure containing detailed information on the requirements for the M.S. degree in
Electrical and Computer Engineering is available from the Departmental Graduate
Committee.
