Communication Master's Degree Requirements

Candidates for the M.A. degree
prepare plans of individual study in consultation with faculty advisers. The candidate's course of study will vary with individual circumstances. Some traditional specializations include, but are not limited to, Interpersonal Communication, Intercultural Communication, Mass Communication, Rhetoric and Public Discourse, Critical and Cultural Studies, International Media, and Technology Studies. For department emphasis on areas of specialty, see descriptions under Ph.D. program.

The M.A. degree requires a thesis and 30 credits of coursework. Up to six credits are awarded for a thesis.
