Comparative aspects of anatomy, embryology, endocrinology, and physiology of reproduction and lactation. Credit, 4.Mr. Duby, Mr. Fissore.

596 Independent Study

Generally this level is used by upper level undergraduates but can be used by beginning graduate students. All faculty. Credit, 1-6.

597A Immunology

A comprehensive basic course in immunol-ogy. May be substituted by Animal Science graduate students in lieu of three of the six credits of 600-level and above Animal Science course work required for the Master's or Ph.D. degrees. Mr. Goldsby.

672 Molecular Medicine

An introduction to diseases of major organ systems and biotechnological approaches to improve diagnosis and treatment. Topics include cancer, genetic disease, cardiac disease, neurologic disorders, tissue transplantation. Prerequisites: Biochm 523 and course in physiology. Mr. Jerry

696 Independent Study

Specific problem in some aspect of animal or biological sciences. May be taken for satisfactory/unsatisfactory or graded credit. Students register with the interested faculty member. This is generally the first graduate-level independent study taken. Can be used for master's students to review literature on the topic chosen for their laboratory research but this requires an oral presentation. All faculty. Credit, 1-6.

697 Special Topics in Reproduction

Four special topics modules offered in the field of reproductive biology and signal transduction. Modules cover reproductive physiology focusing on endrocrinology and hormone signaling, fertilization and embryogenesis, applications of gamete and embryo manipulation and oogenesis focusing on cell development and signaling.

699 Master's Thesis

Credit, 1-10.

792, 793 Seminar in Animal Science

Presentation of research projects and literature review by faculty and graduate students within the department as well as by guest speakers from around the world. Credit, 1 ea. sem. Ms. Good

794 Journal Club in Immunology

Presentation and critique by students of recent scientific papers in the field of immunology. Ms. Baldwin, Mr. Black, Mr. Goldsby, Mr. Martz, Ms. Osborne Credit, 1 ea. sem.

795 Journal Club in Animal Science and Biotechnology

Presentation and critique of current primary research literature on animal biotechnology including developmental and reproductive biology, transgenesis and gene expression, oogenesis and signal transduction, mammary gland biology, and tumorigenesis. Mr. Duby, Mr. Fissore, Mr. Freeman, Mr. Jerry, Credit, 1 ea. sem.

796 Independent Study

May be taken for satisfactory/unsatisfactory or graded credit, generally as the second graduate-level independent study taken. Involves an oral presentation at a laboratory meeting or to departmental faculty. All faculty. Credit, 1-6.

797E Graduate Immunology

A comprehensive course in immunology. Mr. Goldsby

897 Special Topics in Molecular Genetics

Four special topics modules offered in the field of molecular genetics, covering tumorigenesis, tissues specific gene expression and molecular genetics in biomedical applications and for sustained agricultural productivity.

899 Doctoral Dissertation

Credit, 18.
