UMass Rising

The UMass Rising Campaign brought our university community together like never before. The largest campaign in our history and for public higher education in the Commonwealth, UMass Rising mobilized more than 100,000 alumni and friends to raise $379 million for the flagship campus.

We are deeply grateful to all those who made UMass Rising a success. Together, we strengthened public higher education for the Commonwealth and the vital difference we make to the welfare of our citizens through education, research, and service.

We broadened educational opportunities for many more students with $61 million in increased aid. We built on our hallmark strengths as a university and planted the seeds of discovery in new research territories. I encourage you to read and share stories about the extraordinary work that is made possible by gifts to UMass Amherst. The cover story of the July issue of the alumni magazine features the impact of the campaign. You can also download a campaign fact sheet.

UMass Amherst is a thriving, top-ranked university because of all who support public higher education and its role within a democratic society. During a time of major funding shifts and economic uncertainty, we united for a brighter future for all those we serve.

But, there is much more work to do. Providing access to higher education for a broad spectrum of students and research for the public good remain bold and powerful ideas. These are guiding principles that will require our continued dedication and collective commitment in the years ahead.

Thank you for your partnership.

With our deep appreciation,
