The band gave me a focal point; it became my little village. Everything I did at UMass emanated from that.

A proud alum started the Minuteman Marching Band Power & Class Recruitment Fund.

I come from a family that has always felt obligated to show appreciation for what we've been given and to give back. My MBA from UMass Amherst was a galvanizing force—it enabled me to totally change the course of my life.

The years I spent at UMass Amherst were incredibly important to my subsequent development. Now I am doing what I can to repay UMass for all that it did for me.

If you have an appreciation for the band or anything else at UMass Amherst, it deserves your support. It's a world-class institution.

Stan and Lynn Handman want to ensure that the band plays on. In their will they have included a bequest to benefit the Minuteman Marching Band.

Feinberg Institute
Named for and inspired by the experience of Kenneth R. Feinberg ’67, who oversaw the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund, the Institute is pioneering a unique field of research and scholarship that will guide policymakers, the legal community, decision makers, and others as they grapple with the question, "How much is a life worth?"
A gift to The Feinberg Institute is a profound statement of faith in our humanity: Honoring those before us, affirming today’s commitment to justice, and ensuring future generations will strive to preserve peace and dignity in the face of tragedy.
Minuteman Marching Band
The 390-member Minuteman Marching Band, known far and wide as the Power and Class of New England, brings enthusiasm and excitement to every performance. These performances range as far as Canada and as near as McGuirk Alumni Stadium on campus, where the band faithfully supports the UMass football team at each game. Benefits to students are endless.
The Marching Band, its leader, its members, its regalia, its instruments, and its many prestigious trophies, are scattered across campus. Plans are underway to find a home that will offer the band rehearsal space, instrument and uniform storage space, and other amenities.
Make a gift to the Marching Band and enhance the experience of being a student at UMass Amherst.
Women of UMass Amherst
Women of UMass Amherst bring the power, the passion, and resources of alumnae and friends together to support UMass Amherst. Spearheaded by UMass Amherst Foundation board members Beth C. Gamel '78, Maureen Flanagan '66, and Grace Fey, the inaugural event was held in February, 2007 in Boston.
