Beyond The Book: UMass Amherst Libraries Embrace New Technology

It’s not just for books anymore.  With technology and tools to connect students to a wealth of information never imagined by previous generations, the UMass Amherst Libraries embrace the vision of what 21st century libraries should be.

More than 5,000 students walk through the library doors every day, twice the number that visited two years ago.  Many more tap into resources online. 

Altogether more than a million visitors a year browse the stacks, use the computers and connect to the Internet and online databases, study in the Learning Commons, and in many other ways, find their niche in a place where learning is valued and nurtured 24 hours a day.
