Robert C. Holub
Robert C. Holub has been chancellor of UMass Amherst since August, 2007. Holub was previously provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Tennessee’s flagship campus in Knoxville. He also spent 27 years at the University of California, Berkeley, where he was a professor of German, chair of the German Department, and dean of the Undergraduate Division of the College of Letters and Science. Holub holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, two master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
