Adding a 4th Credit to a Gen Ed Course
The Dean for Undergraduate Education and the Ad Hoc Committee on General Education Revision and Implemention of the Faculty Senate are working together to provide instructors with a number of specific resources. instructional tools, and consultation services to help you as you convert your Gen Ed course to 4 credits.
This information represents a collaboration of the following offices: Center for Teaching, OIT Academic Computing, Learning Resource Center, Community Service Learning, Center for Educational Software Development, the W. E. B. DuBois Library, and the Office of Academic Planning and Assessment.
On September 17, 2009, the Faculty Senate approved the 4 credit conversion and integrative seminar. Read the Special Report concerning the revisions to the Gen Ed requirements. Gen Ed instructors are invited to the "Drop-In" sessions being held in September, where representatives from various offices will be available to answer questions about the proposal process.
