Family Ties and Prizes Too!

The traditional UMass Amherst Family Weekend will take place from October 16 to October 18, with a host of free activities that students and their families can participate in from their homes on Zoom or YouTube.

“Although families won’t be coming to campus this year, community can be built anywhere,” says Rose Boulay, Director of Parent Services. “Family weekend is a way to connect, a way to show pride in UMass, a way to learn more about our university, and to have fun.”

There will be three days of remote events, including a presentation on tips for remote learning, a study abroad information session, arts, yoga, career talks, trivia, and plenty more.

The Circles of Connection session will provide opportunities for students and families to connect with others in the UMass community.

There will also be a “Proud UMass Family” photo contest, with prizes that include a $500 scholarship.

And, for students craving the food offered by the number-one campus dining service in the nation, UMass Dining will present several how-to presentations, including one on brunch and one on Korean barbeque.
