Du Bois Library Interior and HVAC Repairs

UMass Project Manager: Henry Merriman

Designer/Architect: Edwards and Kelcey
Contractor: Gardner Engineering Inc
Estimated Construction Timeline: August, 2005 through March, 2007

Project Description

The main floor of the Du Bois Library is an approximately 55,000 square foot underground building that rings the main library tower. Due to many years of water intrusion, the main floor has come under significant disrepair. A preceding project to address the waterproofing issue will prepare the main floor for major repairs and improvements. The interior project will provide major improvements to mechanical equipment by replacing all air handlers, and replacing or cleaning all ductwork. Electrical and IT infrastructure will be upgraded. All interior finishes will be replaced or repaired. This will provide the opportunity to reconfigure the space for efficient staff needs and plan for emergent IT
