CAMPUS CENTER UTILITY CORRIDOR UPGRADE
Project Description
This is actually three different projects, all intended to upgrade steam lines and utilities in a major portion of the campus.
The first project involves upgrading the Campus Center Utility Corridor. It is a major undertaking that includes the replacement or upgrade of the existing steamline and steam tunnel, the installation of an electrical ductbank system for a future East/West substation tie-in, the installation of a ductbank section for OIT, and the installation of a six inch effluent water line.
The construction area is located on Campus Center Way immediately adjacent to the Campus Garage and proceeding in a Northeasterly direction, inclusive of the ellipse, toward Lincoln Campus Center. The schedule for the project, including several several different traffic control patterns, runs until summer, 2006.
A second project involves steam line and utility construction proceding in an easterly directtion just north of the Lincoln Campus Center, crossing North Pleasant street, and terminating in the vicinity of the East Experiment Station. This projectis scheduled to be complete in September of 2006.
A third project will provide steam (heat and hot water) to the new North Residential Area and other buildings in the northeast section of campus. the construction site extends from the East Experiment Station in the southwest, through the Northest Residential Area, across Eastman Lane, to the new undergraduate housing in the north. This project is expected to be complete in October, 2006.
