In June, Priscilla
M. Clarkson was appointed dean of Commonwealth College,
the honors college at UMass Amherst. A renowned scholar
in sports medicine and distinguished professor of kinesiology,
Clarkson earned her bachelor's, master's, and PhD from
UMass Amherst.[more]
As the Commonwealth
College Citizen Scholars Program gains national recognition,
gifts to increase the number of stipends for honor students
to volunteer in communities during the summer have grown.
