Matthew O. Littlefield is a vice president at Lehman Brothers, a firm serving the financial needs of corporations, governments and municipalities, institutional clients and high net worth individuals. He is a member the Board of Trustees of the UMass Amherst System Finance Committee and of the Board of Advisors for Commonwealth College. He received a bachelor’s degree in legal studies and English from UMass Amherst in 1999 and studied at Oxford University (Trinity). Littlefield lives in Wrentham, Mass.
Robert M.
Mahoney is vice chairman at Citizen's Financial Group Inc. He served on the University of Massachusetts board of trustees and chaired its development committee. He and other family members made a $2 million gift to UMass Amherst for the Integrated Science Building, currently under construction. He received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from UMass Amherst in 1970 and a master’s in business administration from Columbia University in 1971. Mahoney lives in the Boston area.
Gordon N. Oakes Jr. is co-founded Oakes Interactive, a company that focuses on custom multimedia development for Fortune 500 companies. He is a former member of the University of Massachusetts Board of Trustees, which he chaired from 1989 to 1991. He received a bachelor’s degree in animal science in 1963 from UMass Amherst and in 1988 was awarded an honorary doctorate from the university. Oakes lives in South Deerfield, Mass.
Andrew T. Rudd is founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Advisor Software, Inc., a firm based in Lafayette, Calf. that offers analytics to the retail financial services market. Rudd and his wife, Virginia, donated $2.5 million for an endowed professorship in psychology, as well as funds for the Amherst campus’s Rudd Field, home to the men's and women's soccer teams. He received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and physics from Sussex University in England and a master’s in operations research, a master’s in finance and international business, and a doctorate, all from the University of California, Berkeley. Rudd lives in Orinda, Calif.
Charlena
Seymour is provost and senior vice chancellor for academic affairs at UMass Amherst. She was chair of the Council of Graduate Schools Advisory Committee on Minorities in Graduate Education and president of the Northeast Association of Graduate Schools in 2002 and 2003. She received a bachelor of fine arts degree from Howard University and master’s and doctorate degrees from The Ohio State University. Seymour lives in Amherst.
Katherine V. Smith is vice president for advancement and chief operating officer for the UMass Foundation. Prior to joining the UMass Foundation she was associate vice president for school relations and corporate and foundation fundraising at Boston College. She worked for many years at Brown University, serving as associate vice president of research and associate vice president of development She received a bachelor’s degree from Cleveland State University in 1986 and a master’s from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1988. Smith lives in Swampscott, Mass.
