Alumni

The Department of Food Science, University of Massachusetts Amherst has the most loyal and generous alumni of any Food Science Department in the world. In order to have the alumni be a greater part of the Department we instituted three major efforts:

1. We developed an Alumni Newsletter which is published twice a year.

2. We established an Alumni Breakfast at the Annual Meeting of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), and

3. We will be celebrating our 7th Food Science Alumni Weekend this fall on October 3rd/4th of 2008 here on the UMASS campus.

All the weekends have been tremendous successes with alumni attending from around the world. The leaders of the University including the Chancellor, Provost and Dean have participated in the event, as have our State Representatives.
