Where do I go to find out information about moving in?

Is there an opening event to welcome students back to campus?
Yes. On Monday September 1, there will be a Welcome to UMass Amherst Green Barbecue with the new Chancellor, Dr. Holub by the campus pond from 4 – 7 p.m.
Can parents get tickets to the Charlie Murphy & Bill Burr Comedy Night ? Or friends that attend other schools?
No. This show is only open to UMass Amherst students as a part of our special First Week program.
How much are the Charlie Murphy & Bill Burr tickets?
Tickets are $10 for UMass Amherst students only. You will need your student ID to purchase tickets.
Where can I purchase tickets to the Charlie Murphy & Bill Burr Comedy Night?
Tickets may be purchased through the Fine Arts Center Box Office or by calling 800.999.UMAS. You must have your student ID at the time of purchase and to enter the show.
Where is the Cage?
The Cage is the across from Herter Hall and the Lacrosse Field. It’s attached to the back of the Curry Hicks Building.
How do I get tickets for the football game on Saturday, August 30?
Students enter free by showing their student ID. Parents, siblings and friends can purchase tickets through the Athletic Ticket office at 866.UMASS.TIX or online through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com) for presale tickets.
On Game Day, the ticket sales booths open 2 hours prior to kickoff. The Gates open 1.5 hours prior to kickoff. Children two years old and younger are admitted free and must be held.
How do I find out about student organizations and how to get involved?
Come to the Activities Expo on the library deck on Wednesday, September 3 from 4 – 7 p.m.
I wasn’t able to come to orientation earlier this summer, is there one right before school starts?
Yes. You need to contact the New Students Orientation Office to make arrangements to attend the orientation session that will take place during Early Move In. You can reach the NSO office by email at newstudent@acad.umass.edu or call 413.545.2621.
My first class is a discussion section and I haven’t had the main lecture class yet, should I attend?
Yes. It’s best for you to go. This way, you will be up to speed for the lecture if your Teaching Assistant hold the class and if not, at the very least you will find where your classroom is, so it’s best to go!
